The changes to our processes are aimed at improving the security of your program and data whether this is kept on your local PC or on a remote server. They include better user access controls to ensure no unauthorised access to your program or data.

We are also implementing improved online payment facilities to help streamline the creation or renewal of software subscriptions so that there is no interruption to your use of the software or access to your data.

Practical Systems is implementing an improved online payment process. This new process will make it easier to make credit card payments via our website or when you receive an invoice via email.  

You will direct control over entry of credit card details and will not have to provide card details to a third party or go through additional third party registration or authorisation processes.

New subscribers will have easier options for trialling and purchasing software subscriptions via our website and renewing subscribers will be able to renew quickly and easily via online card payment.

Over the coming months we will be implementing a number of changes to our business processes. These are aimed at improving security of your access to programs and data. Some of these changes will impact you directly as you may need to change the way you log in to your software or various related services.

You will start to see communications on any specific changes that affect you. We’d urge you to read these when they arrive so that the transition will be as smooth as possible.

Software access is changing

Software access is changing

Until now, you will have gained access to your Practical Systems program – and various other services such as data hosting, bank feeds, etc. – by using a client ID and a password to log in. 

We are changing this so that user access will instead occur by using a personal email address and a password to log in.

Using a personal email address enables us to improve security and control over who has access to use your program and who can see your data.

This process will also give you greater control of your own program because any new user that requires access to your software and data will have to be verified by the primary account holder. This verification will occur by contacting the primary account holder at their personal email address.

Data Warehouse Access

Data Warehouse Access

The Practical Systems Data Warehouse provides a controlled-access, off-site storage option for data backups. The Data Warehouse is provided as an additional storage location option when undertaking a routine back-up of data.

Due to scheduled maintenance, the data warehouse will not be available on Sunday, 13th of September 2020. This maintenance is aimed at improving the security of the data warehouse.
